Stigmata

Stigmata tells the story of a young woman, Lizzie, whose life is forever changed by the death of her grandmother, whom she never meets, but who wills to her a handmade quilt. We then follow as Lizzie feels the past come to life in the form of dreams and visions, until she begins to believe that she is the slave girl depicted on the quilt. When marks of stigmata - like wounds made by slave manacles - appear on her wrists and ankles, she and her family face the possibility that either Lizzie has made the cuts herself, or that she has made a frighteningly real connection to the past. 235 pages.
