State Fair (Benni Harper Mystery, Bk. 14)

This year's fair features an exhibition of traditional African-American quilts, giving Benni an opportunity to enjoy the craftsmanship and history surrounding the pieces. Her anticipated break quickly turns into another investigation when one of the quilts is stolen, and the theft soon becomes connected to a cold-blooded murder. Realizing that the crime involves much more than a missing piece of artwork, Benni begins looking beneath the friendly surface of the fair to uncover hidden motives and determine who can be trusted. As she follows the clues, she discovers that someone among the exhibitors and fairgoers may be concealing a deadly secret.
