*Rednecks* is a sweeping historical novel set during the early 20th century in the Appalachian region, dramatizing the violent struggles and uprisings of coal miners, their families, and communities.

The narrative begins in 1920 in a mining camp high above the town, where a Lebanese-American doctor named Domit “Doc Moo” Muhanna serves a racially and economically divided community that is on the brink of revolt.

As tensions escalate, a multi-ethnic army of miners—Black, white, Appalachian, immigrant—ties red bandanas around their necks and marches toward the largest insurrection of American workers since the Civil War: the Battle of Blair Mountain.
