This program is designed to award points for actions completed on our site. Points can be accumulated to be later redeemed for a gift certificate value, which can then be used towards a future order. To see how you can earn points, please visit your Loyalty Dashboard.
Purchase points are only available for orders placed as of August 9, 2017, or later. No purchases made prior to this date are eligible for points.

Purchase: Earn 1 point for every $2 spent

Earn 1 point for every $2 spent on the purchase of product, but not for any amount spent on taxes or shipping costs. If an order is cancelled or returned, any Loyalty Points awarded for the purchase will be cancelled or removed from your account.

Loyalty Points are not awarded for the purchase of Book Outlet Gift Cards. When making a purchase with a Gift Card, points will be earned on the order amount, less taxes and shipping.

Refer a Friend to Book Outlet: Give a friend $10 off their first purchase of $25 or more at Book Outlet and earn 200 points ($10 in Rewards) when they make their first purchase.

To refer a friend via email, Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Twitter, or referral link, go to your Loyalty Dashboard, while logged in, and click the button that says “Refer a Friend.” If this is your first time referring, you will need to register by filling out your first and last name as well as your email address.

Newsletter Sign-up: Earn 20 points

Sign up for our newsletter and earn 20 points! You will find our sign up button by going to your Loyalty Dashboard or by clicking the “Subscribe to Newsletter” link located near the top and bottom of the page on the right-hand side.

Create an Account: Earn 10 points

Create a Book Outlet account and automatically earn 10 points!

No special loyalty account sign-up is needed in order to join the loyalty program. Simply create a regular Book Outlet account and you will be automatically joined to the loyalty program.

Connect with Book Outlet: Earn 10 points each

Visit Book Outlet on Twitter, Instagram, and/or Facebook and earn 10 points for each first visit you make. To receive points, click the visit social icon buttons found in your Loyalty Dashboard.

Take a Loyalty Quiz: Earn 10 points each

Take our monthly Loyalty Quizzes and you can earn 10 points each month! Find our latest Loyalty Quiz, visit our Social page or click the “Take a Loyalty Quiz” button in your Loyalty Dashboard.

1 purchase point is awarded for every $2 spent. If the subtotal of your order is an uneven number, the points allocated for the purchase will be rounded up or down to the nearest even number.
  1. On any page of the Book Outlet website, click the Subscribe to Newsletter link (located near the top and bottom of the page on the right-hand side)
  2. Enter your information and click the Subscribe button.
  3. Your points will immediately appear in your account.
100 points earns you a $5 gift card
200 points earns you a $10 gift card
300 points earns you a $15 gift card
400 points earns you a $20 gift card
  1. Go to your Loyalty Dashboard by clicking the profile icon (the little person) located at the top right-hand side of the page on the red bar and select My Rewards.
  2. Select the Manage Rewards tab.
  3. Select Claim Reward for the corresponding reward amount you are interested in using.

    Clicking Claim Reward will generate a Gift Card code and password that you can use during the checkout process (i.e. payment page).

    All rewards that are unavailable will be greyed out and unable to be clicked.

    If you selected Claim Reward by accident or you do not want to use the reward right away, the code will stay in the Manage Rewards area of your account for you to use later. Rewards do not expire.

    If you do not see your Gift Card code and password under Manage Rewards, these will also be viewable under My Gift Cards area of your account. Remaining balances can also be viewed in the My Gift Cards section.

  4. Redeem the reward.

    Once you have added books to your cart, click the green Checkout button and choose your shipping method. The next screen, Payment, will have an option to apply a gift card. In the Gift Certificate box, paste your reward code with the password bookoutlet and then apply it to your order.

  1. Once you are logged in on the Book Outlet website, click on the profile icon (the little person) located at the top right-hand side of the page on the red bar and select My Rewards.
  2. The short red bar located just below the My Reward Dashboard heading on the right-hand side of the page displays Available Points and Points Available Soon.
  3. Points Available Soon are the points currently pending and will be added to your account as soon as processing completes (See Why Aren’t My Points Available Right Away? for more information).
Should you be missing points that should have been received, please create a Service Inquiry with our Customer Service team for assistance. Please be sure to include in your message the action you had completed along with the number of points you are missing.

Some of your points will be available for redemption immediately in your account (e.g. account creation and newsletter sign-up).

However, points from purchases and the Refer a Friend program will be pending until the order has shipped. For the Refer a Friend program, the 200 referral points will be awaiting the referred friend’s order placement and shipment. During this holding period, points will be listed under the Points Available Soon section. This is to prevent redemption of points for returned/cancelled product(s).

Once the holding period has passed and the order is in “closed” status, the points will be automatically moved into your Available Points area and can be claimed toward a reward if the points balance allows.

If an order is cancelled or returned, any Loyalty Points awarded for the purchase will be cancelled or removed from your account at Book Outlet’s discretion.
  1. Access our Refer a Friend to Book Outlet page directly through your Loyalty Dashboard or by clicking the Refer a Friend link located within the footer section of the Book Outlet website under Help.
  2. Choose which method you would like to use to refer your friends to Book Outlet in order to send them a $10 off coupon towards their first order of $25 or more. When your friends make their first ever Book Outlet purchase, you will receive 200 points to your account once their order has shipped.

Ways to introduce a friend to Book Outlet:

Via Facebook, Facebook Messenger, & Twitter:
Select the corresponding social channel you would like to share on. Add/alter the text in the post if you wish and then select Post/Share. When a friend clicks the link in your post and makes their first purchase, you will receive 200 points.*

Via Email:
Enter your name, your email associated with your Book Outlet account, and the email address of your friend(s) that have never created a Book Outlet account before. When one of your friends makes their first purchase on Book Outlet from the email you sent, you will receive 200 points.*

Via Link:
Copy the link provided and send it to your friends using whichever method you choose. When one of your friends makes their first purchase on Book Outlet from the link you sent, you will receive 200 points.*

* Please note:

A referral will only be successful if your friend places their first purchase with a value of $25 or more. Orders with a value less than $25 will not be applicable to use the $10 referral code and will not result in the referrer receiving the 200 points. Referral coupons cannot be combined with other sales and promotions.

The maximum amount of referral points you can receive in one week is 400, the equivalent of 2 purchases from your referral link(s). If more than 2 friends make purchases from your referral link(s) within 1 week, you will not be awarded any additional referral points.

Points from the Refer a Friend program will be held until the order of the referred friend has been shipped and marked as ‘closed’. During that holding period, points will be listed under Points Available Soon. If your friend’s order is canceled or returned, the 200 points awarded to you for their purchase will be cancelled/removed from your account at Book Outlet’s discretion.

The Refer a Friend program is designed to award you points when you introduce someone new to Book Outlet. Therefore, friends who are referred must not have the same home or business addresses or other personal information as you. Please note: there are security measures in place to prevent the wrongful awarding of points. If you referred a friend and did not get your points, it may be because of these security features. If your referral is valid and you have not received your points, please create a Service Inquiry so that our Customer Service team may look into it further.
